Welcome to the KCA

The Keystone Contractors Association is a Pennsylvania commercial construction trade association based in south central Pennsylvania. The KCA is dedicated to improving the construction industry daily by focusing on safety, education & training, labor relations, community service, career development, and government relations.  Who is the KCA? (This video helps to explain about who we are.)

Mental Health Awareness & Suicide Prevention Resources

Mental health and well-being are high priorities for the KCA. 1 in 5 construction workers struggle with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues; additionally, construction has the second highest rate of suicides among all occupations. The KCA is committed to helping our members and the construction industry by offering resources and a network to help save lives.

Along with raising awareness and making it ok to talk about mental health issues, KCA encourages safety talks on the topic, as well as posting the KCA Mental Health Resources poster at your office and on your jobsites.

A self-assessment is a great place to start. Here are two to consider: Man Therapy  and  Mental Health America.

Mental Health Task Force - The KCA established this task force comprised of members and other professionals who are passionate on this topic. This group is charged with developing and/or promoting resources for construction companies and their workers. If interested in getting involved, please contact the KCA.

The National Suicide Prevention Line 9-8-8 was launched to function like 9-1-1, plus it's FREE, CONFIDENTIAL and available 24/7. For a crisis number for your county, please visit: Pennsylvania Crisis Hotlines.

What's the Story Behind the New Safety Logo?

In 2016, the KCA launched a safety rebranding, coming up with the tagline: Teamwork Improves Safety! From the End User to the General Contractor to the Sub & Specialty Contractors to consultants, it takes an entire team on the jobsite to achieve safety excellence. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, that teamwork mentality extended beyond the jobsite and we all looked after each other to make sure we make it through these challenging times: Teamwork Improves Safety & Life!
